Unlike a universal backup camera, this system replaces or integrates with the tailgate handle area to provide a higher and more centered rear-view position. When reverse gear is engaged, the mirror monitor can automatically display the rear camera image, helping drivers see the bumper, hitch ball, parking area, pedestrians and nearby obstacles.
