Unlike a universal rear camera, the tailgate handle camera is mounted in the original handle area for a more OEM-style appearance and rear-view position. When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the mirror monitor can automatically switch to the rear camera image, helping drivers check the parking area, trailer hitch, pedestrians and obstacles behind the vehicle.
